What We Do
The walking path follows the old Ma & Pa Railroad bed where possible and connects a number of fragmented trails that currently run along the stream. The construction of two bridges in 2017 was the final link. The result is a continuous 3-mile path from the Jones Falls Trail at the Stieff Silver trailhead up to Northern Parkway.
Environmental & Community Activities
The focus of FSR is to preserve the Stony Run Stream Valley. This means restoring and protecting the environment for the local community–both human and natural.
FSR has organized trash cleanups and restoration projects along Stony Run. Our activities include invasive species removal, plantings of trees and native plants, water quality monitoring, path maintenance and more.
History & Tours
We have offered several walking tours focused on the historical Ma & Pa Railway that went through Wyman Park on the way to York, PA in the first half of the 20th century. Several scientist-led tours have focussed on natural attributes.
