Friends of Stony Run focuses on the long-term stewardship of the Stony Run Stream Valley in Baltimore.
We are a volunteer-based organization that initiates stream cleanups and programs to improve the health of the stream valley and enhance the quality of life in the surrounding community.
One of our initial goals was a continuous walking path from the Jones Falls Trail to north Baltimore along the original Ma & Pa Railroad line. In 2017, the construction of two bridges made that dream a reality! Read the Baltimore Sun article about the bridge ribbon cutting and celebration that was held on October 7, 2017, and check out our photo album.JHU Prof Anand Pandian and his Social Ecology students have been studying the Stony Run watershed this semester. Join us for their presentation on Monday, December 16 to learn more.
