Friends of Stony Run focuses on the long-term stewardship of the Stony Run Stream Valley in Baltimore.
We are a volunteer-based organization that initiates stream cleanups and programs to improve the health of the stream valley and enhance the quality of life in the surrounding community.
One of our long-term goals has been a continuous walking path from the Jones Falls Trail to north Baltimore along the original Ma & Pa Railroad line. In 2017, the construction of two bridges made that dream a reality! Read the Baltimore Sun article about the bridge ribbon cutting and celebration that was held on October 7, 2017, and check out our photo album.
More Fall fun !Our third annual Urban Bird Fest on September 22 was a lovely day for all and many enjoyed Maryland Trout Unlimited's Huck Finn Day on October 28. Next up -- join us to free the trees in Stony Run Park. Stay tuned to our events page and follow us on Facebook for more about these and other future events.
Stony Run Strategic Plan approved! Thanks to many volunteer hours and the fine leadership of the Roland Park Community Foundation and RPCF President Mary Page Michel, the Stony Run Strategic Plan has been approved by the City Planning Commission. Please find the Plan here.
