Friends of Stony Run focuses on the long-term stewardship of the Stony Run Stream Valley in Baltimore.
We are a volunteer-based organization that initiates stream cleanups and programs to improve the health of the stream valley and enhance the quality of life in the surrounding community.
One of our initial goals was a continuous walking path from the Jones Falls Trail to north Baltimore along the original Ma & Pa Railroad line. In 2017, the construction of two bridges made that dream a reality! Read the Baltimore Sun article about the bridge ribbon cutting and celebration that was held on October 7, 2017, and check out our photo album.A popular event is Maryland Trout Unlimited's Huck Finn Day held each Fall along the Stony Run. Learn more about this event, now re-scheduled for Novmember 3!
We love our birds! Thanks to all who made our 4th annual Urban Bird Fest so much fun. Learn more and stay tuned for upcoming events -- follow us on Facebook.
